Our Analysis & Ratings

The Aquaglide Navarro 145 kayak is dependable and durable. It’s well-built, with 600 denier hex ripstop polyester and a drop-stitch floor, and comes with almost everything you need. You can use it for solo paddling or with a friend, so it's a versatile kayak for those heading downriver, touring or cruising.

Performance - The Navarro 145 has no issues with manoeuvrability and stability, despite its length, handling choppy waters with ease, and it's easy and comfortable to paddle, but there can be a few hiccups staying in a straight line.

Construction - It’s a well-built kayak for various temperatures with 600-denier hex ripstop polyester and a drop-stitch floor. It's convertible to a single cockpit, if desired. The long front deck has enough room for storage and an added rear storage hatch.

Setup/Pack down - It takes about 12 minutes to unpack, inflate and install everything on the Aquaglide Navarro 145 due to switching between different valve adaptors — something we found strange. It also doesn’t come with a pump. Packing down is easy with the duffel bag's wide opening and drawstring. The polyester covering can take a while to dry.

Portability - The duffel bag the Navarro 145 comes in is compact with thick straps, but it has no room inside for a pump or paddle, meaning you have to carry these separately — along with a pump, it also doesn’t come with paddles! At 16.3kg for the kayak alone, it can be quite heavy to carry it all to your launch site.

Comfort - The Navarro 145 has adjustable seating with high backrests and padded seat cushions. The spray skirt also adds warmth and keeps you drier in bad conditions than you would in other kayaks.

Overall - For the price, Aquaglide’s Navarro 145 is a tandem kayak with a good design and performance for leisure use.
