Our Analysis & Ratings

Danchel has created a great bell/yurt-style teepee tent for serious adventures with its heavy-duty 300D Oxford silver coated fabric. We like that it's a style that you'd usually see in heavy canvas material reimagined in polyester, so much lighter weight. It also has a heap of windows, including transparent panes in the ceiling, so feels nice and light inside despite its dark fabric. Having said that, if you're after a more typical teepee- or bell-tent look, this may not do it for you in its dark green shade.

Comfort - This tent has a great liveable space even with the central pole design. Built with silver-coated material to keep you warm, it also has fold-up windows in the base for ventilation in warmer conditions.

Construction - Constructed with a high waterproof rating of 5000mm for solid water resistance, it handles water well - however, the same can't be said for wind. The central pole design, as with many tents of this type, really relies on the tightness of the surrounding guy lines to handle gusts, and we found we just couldn't get ours tight enough. Pure pollyester is never going to be as durable as canvas or polycotton.

Features - The Danchel Tipi tent has an anti-tear 300D Oxford Sunscreen silver coated fabric, and a 5000mm+ PU coated Oxford flooring. The door opening has a dedicated post for a nice small porch, and what we most appreciate are the 7 additional mesh openings that give a lot of light and ventilation.

Size/ Weight - For a tent of this size and design, the polyester fabric results in a relatively light weight and packs down to a compact size of 85 x 27 x 27 cm.

Versatility - This is an excellent choice for car camping with larger groups that's not too onerous to set up or pack down - suitable for single-night stays and longer-term use because of its size (just avoid really windy locations).

Overall - Big but lightweight, this is a practical choice if you want to glamp everywhere you go.
