Our Analysis & Ratings
A perfect example of price-performance and comfort, the Quechua Basic is simple, compact and cheap, and suits exactly what it’s made for: outdoor use. Available in dark petrol blue and sand, it is great value for money while being a space-saving and easy-to-transport chair.
Comfort - The Quechua Basic has a maximum load capacity of 110kg, which is great for such a cheap chair. Its seat is 41cm high. It doesn’t have a full backrest, but it’s still decently comfortable, especially for the price. It can be slightly uncomfortable to sit in for long periods as the backrest is very straight, rather than angled slightly.
Construction - Made of a steel frame and polyester fabric. It’s easy to use and set up, just remove the strap and pull open, then it’s easy to do the reverse when folding.
Features - The right armrest has a cupholder, something many of the more expensive chairs we reviewed doesn’t have, and both sides have thick, fabric armrests. It’s a basic but practical chair.
Size/Weight - At a weight of 2.8kg, you can comfortably move multiple of these from your car to your campsite. It folds down to 77.5x20x17cm to a compact stick, like many camping chairs.
Versatility - The Quechua Basic has an integrated wrap-around strap to hold it together, which doubles as a place to hold when moving it. This comes at the expense of a carry bag, which can make transport slightly unpractical, and you will have to wipe it down after taking it out of storage, as no cover means it can get dirty and dusty.
Overall - At just £13, the Quechua Basic is a great-value chair for all camping adventures.
