Our Analysis & Ratings

Designed to be lightweight, warm, and compressible, the Rab Neutrino 800 serves up all three but with a few shortcomings. At a high price point, the bag offers a nice tapered design with enough room to adjust movement, and it compresses down well into its stuff sack, but it may be outperformed by other bags with much less cost.

Comfort - There is more movement inside the bag, and a nice tapered foot area neatly positioned to settle in comfortably. While extra room could be nice to change positions, the tight fit does a good job of keeping the cold out, with its 800 fill power goose down.

Construction - It has Pertex Quantum shell to resist condensation, and Nikwax Fluorocarbon-Free Hydrophobic finish for an added moisture barrier.

Features - An interior zippered pocket provides a lot of space for storing your essentials. The Neutrino also features a close fitting adjustable neck baffle, but its long cords that don’t position well once you tighten up the hood. There is room for improvement in this area.

Size/Weight - A packed size of 24x33cm is a good balance to its weight of 1.29 kg.

Versatility - This bag has a nice shape for any person to feel comfortable in but does not fully perform in terms of resistance to cold weather.

Overall - A decent bag that fits nicely, but is quite expensive compared to others with better warmth factor.
