Our Analysis & Ratings

This is a quality tent from Robens, featuring a lightweight but durable polycotton material - a great alternative to a traditional canvas bell tent. We like that it's easy to pitch and features a waterproof, zip-in floor that you can unzip to create an internal area for cooking on a camp stove.

Comfort - A six-person tent, this has a smaller living space than other tents of this design we removed, but for the two of us with twin mattresses it was definitely big enough. It also has a tall standing height of 2.7m and door opening height of 1.75m, so it was very easy to move around in. More windows would've been great for brightness, but the ventilation and waterproofing was excellent.

Construction - This is clearly a quality construction. Engineered Hydrotex Polycotton material gives good waterproofing, anodised alloy poles will last a while, zips and guy lines were sturdy.

Features - The best feature of this tent is its Apex Vent Control System - essentially allowing you to open or close the top roof vents without having to get up through a pulley. Fantastic for a lazy morning breath of fresh air. The tent also features eaves to deflect rain runoff.

Size/Weight - At just over 16kg, this is a really manageable weight for a tent of this design, achieved without sacrificing the durability of the fabric.

Versatility - With a relatively straightforward setup and being fairly lightweight for this design, it's a tent that you could conceivably use for shorter- and longer-term stays.

Overall - Strikes an excellent balance between quality, weight and durability while looking good.
