Our Analysis & Ratings

The Helinox Table One is a lightweight, compact side table that works well for camping and backpacking. It's not the best choice for everyone because of its size, weight and higher price, but it's practical and cleverly built for people who need something light and easy to carry.

Performance - The Helinox Table One is one of the best ultralight camping tables you can get. It holds up surprisingly well for its size and weight. It can support up to 50kg without tipping or collapsing, which is pretty impressive. The frame is built to bend and flex a little, which helps it stay standing rather than snap under pressure. This might feel a bit odd at first, but it means the table can stay upright even on uneven ground. Each corner can handle close to 13kg before it starts to give way.

Construction - The first time you set it up, it might seem a little tricky, but the frame pieces are all connected by bungee cords that guide everything into place. Once you get the hang of it, setup is pretty quick. The table frame is made from hollow aluminum tubes, which are actually stronger than they look, while the top is a polyester mesh, which is light but can get damaged if you put something sharp or hot on it. It holds a good amount of weight, but its low weight means it can blow over in windy weather.

Features - There are two built-in cup holders on the tabletop. Both the top and the carry case can be tossed in the washing machine, which is helpful if you spill food or drinks.

Portability - It only weighs about 626g, so it’s very easy to carry. It packs into a small case that’s about 42x11x11cm and has handles and loops, so you can attach it to your backpack or other gear without much hassle.

Versatility - While it can hold a fair bit of weight, this isn’t the kind of table you want to cook on. It’s too small and the fabric top isn’t heat-safe. It works best as a little side table for drinks, snacks or light use, and it’s great for kids. Thanks to its light design and clip-on case, it’s great for short hikes or overnight backpacking trips where space and weight matter.

Overall - The Helinox Table One is a small, lightweight option that’s well designed for travel, but it comes at a high price. If you’re willing to spend a bit more and just need a simple, portable surface, it could be a good fit. If not, there are cheaper alternatives that may work just as well.
