If you want a chair that’ll hold up for years, the Yeti Trailhead is a great choice. It’s pricey, but the tough materials and smart design make it both sturdy and built to last. Plus, it’s easy to set up and surprisingly comfortable, which, really, is everything you could ask for in a camping chair!
Comfort - Supporting up to 227kg, the Yeti Trailhead is as durable as it is cosy. The fabric molds to your body, and the wide armrests give good support, though they aren’t adjustable. The high backrest offers excellent lumbar support and the breathable fabric keeps you cool by letting air flow through, even on hot days.
Construction - The FlexGrip fabric is UV-resistant, so it won’t fade after long hours in the sun. Every detail is well thought out, including the reinforced cupholder, which is made from the same heavy-duty material. The powder-coated steel frame and cross-over design add extra stability when the chair is set up.
Features - Setting up and packing down the chair is straightforward, though the instructions are printed on removable stickers on the armrests, which is a bit of an odd choice. The only extra feature is a single cupholder; it’s a shame there aren’t any additional storage options.
Size/Weight - At 6kg, this definitely isn’t the lightest chair, so it might not be a great choice for long hikes to camp. However, the included backpack-style carry bag makes it easier to transport. Older campers or those covering long distances might find it a bit heavy.
Versatility - Thanks to its rugged build, this chair works great on uneven ground, at campsites, or even on the beach. The wide feet help keep it from sinking too deep into soft surfaces.
